Topic B: Biotechnological applications to improve the utilisation of biomass
We are interested in either submitting a proposal ourselves or joining an existing consortium.
Our main goals are to further develop our biodegradable RFID-based sensors, e.g., to gain insights from biomass utilization processes or to enable the use of bioinformatics tools.
Alternatively, we are working on a novel ultrasonic sensor system for flow measurements in pipelines, such as those used in fermentation processes or waste treatment.
For both options, we are seeking partners from eligible countries.
Additionally, as mentioned in my other offer, we are always keen to apply AI methods, ranging from generative local AI for decision support to federated learning and domain adaptation.
At Fraunhofer IMS, we specialize in cutting-edge research and development, focusing on high-performance sensors and embedded AI. Our goal is to apply this expertise to the food sector, covering every stage of the food chain, from farm to fork!
We have successfully secured funding for a GEH project in the 2nd call (FarmScan), in which will enable remote field analysis via biodegradable soil sensors and provide farmers with AI-based decision support.
