Renewable fertiliser (digestate) chemical composition and quality, soil health, soil organic carbon and humus substances, quality and nutritional value of traditional and alternative agricultural plants (including grain, silage),
Improved resilience and health of crops
We are interested in participating in a consortium on Topic 1 "Enhance fertilizer efficiency and reduce fertilizer use" , as well Topic 2 "Increase European protein self-sufficiency" and/or Topic 3. "Mitigate GHG emissions in agricultural and food systems" .
We can offer:
o Perform vegetative experiments in controlled climate chambers and in fields;
o Determination of the main nutrients in various matrixes (soil, biofertilizer, plant materials for food and feed);
o Determination of humified and mobile humus fractions, total soil organic carbon, dissolved organic carbon and carbonates;
o Soil granulometric composition (WRB 2022);
o Determination of soluble forms: P, K, Al, SO4-2, S-2;
o Research of biowaste (NPK, ChDS, NH4, NH4-N, S);
o Determination of the grain, flour, starch, bran, bread chemical composition and technological quality;
o Analyses of various plant bioactive compounds;
o Determination of carbohydrates, crude fibre, NDF, ADF, lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose.
We are open to collaboration opportunities in project consortia in greenerahub.
Chemical Research Laboratory of Institute of Agriculture, Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry
work on topics:
o Soil carbon stability, sequestration and transformation, qualitative and quantitative research of humus substances, their fractions research on humification and mineralization in mineral and organic soils of various soil genesis used in agriculture.
o Research on chemical properties, total and plant available macro- and micro- elements in mineral and organic soils under different land use, fertilisation systems.
o Research of physical, chemical, and technological properties and suitability for industrial processing of grain and its products (flour, bran, dough, starch, bread...) while used various agro-technological research and genotypic diversity.
o The studies of quality and nutritional value of traditional and alternative agricultural plants and silage as affected by genotypic diversity, agrotechnological peculiarities, climate change, used for development technologies and bioenergy.
o Studies of bio-waste composition to assess the quality of the biogas process.
Lab. researchers are successful across a wide range of Lithuania and EU funded programmes including as follows:
