Our research group is applying geophysical measurement techniques to investigate the soil-plant continuum with focus on investigating on different scales (field to lab) and under varying agricultural treatments such as intercropping, crop rotation, fertilizer applications, cover crops, etc. We have a few project ideas, but we are looking for partner with expertise in crop science and/ or breeding.
We develop and apply hydrogeophysical methods to enhance the characterization of the critical zone including aquifers, peatlands, permafrost soils and agricultural fields. One of our main foci is to enhance the resolution of small-scale heterogeneity related to the soil-plant system.
Key Research Areas and Methods:
Hydrogeophysics, Hydrology and Permafrost Geophysics
GPR, GPR Full-waveform Inversion
Electromagnetic Wave Propagation
Geophysical Modeling, Imaging and Inversion techniques
