We are interested in participating in a consortium on topic 2, without excluding topic 1 as well (in particular Fertiliser production and recovery: innovative procedures to retrieve fertilisers from agricultural (by)-products, residues and waste from agricultural/food production). We deal with the use of insects in the circular economy for the bioconversion of waste and by-products from the agro-food industry into protein biomass for food and feed. Our expertise lies in the rearing of different insect species on organic substrates and the evaluation of their growth, bioconversion capacity and nutritional composition. We are also evaluating the use of probiotic bacteria to optimise the performance of the insects considered.
