We are interested in joining (or forming) a consortium covering topic 1 and/or topic 3. We develop advanced optical sensing, including spectroscopy and computer vision, using both customized and off-the-shelf hardware. In the past, we have had international projects on fertilizer use and nitrogen uptake in soil. We are currently involved in multiple projects on spectroscopy for food quality control. We develop prototypes tailored towards end-users and test and deploy those prototypes rapidly in the field. We combine expertise on optical instrumentation, computer vision, and data analytics to offer a solution covering sensor technology and data analysis.
Our instrumentation includes FTIR (benchtop and portable), lasers for gas measurements (NH3, CH4, ...), infrared spectrometers, and cameras.
On the data analysis side, we offer multivariate analysis and machine learning approaches.
SINTEF is a non-profit research institute. Our department Smart Sensors and Microsystems develops prototypes for agricultural applications, among others. For more information, please contact us and see our website:
